이플은 주변에 존재하지만 평소 잘 인식되지 못하는 존재인 풀 군집에 관심을 가지고 회화작업을 한다. 그의 작업에서 풀 군집은 항상 그 자리에 있지만 잘 인식하지 못하는 생명을 대변하며, 작가는 이들을 분할 관찰하여 캔버스 위에 재구성한다. 이를 통해 작가는, 우리 인식 속 사소하다고 생각하는 존재가 갖는 의미와 우리와 이들의 관계에 대해 생각하게 한다.
EEpeul is an artist who focuses on the unnoticed yet ever-present gatherings of grass around us. In her paintings, these clusters of grass represent life forms that are always there but often overlooked. By closely observing and reconstructing these scenes on canvas, the artist invites us to reflect on the significance of beings we consider trivial and our relationship with them.
